Our story

Good information should be easy to find and easy to trust.

We built Threadbare Studio on that one belief. Everything we publish exists to genuinely help the reader, written calm and kept current.

A reader holding a clear identification card, a small object that makes everyday access simpler.
Independent since 2018

Why we exist

A quiet place to read, in a loud internet.

Most wellbeing writing online is either thin or shouting. We wanted the opposite: a warm ivory page, charcoal ink, room to breathe, and one clear idea carried all the way through.

So we kept the studio small and the standard high. Each article is researched properly, written plainly, and revisited as things change. No autoplay, no pop-ups, no second status colour fighting for your attention. Just useful writing you can sit with.

If a piece does not earn its place by being true, clear and genuinely helpful, it does not go out. That is the whole policy.

What we stand on.

Four principles that decide what gets published and what gets cut.

Accuracy

We get the facts right and cite where it matters.

Clarity

Plain language, answer first, no padding anywhere.

Independence

Reader-first, never hype-first or sponsor-led.

Usefulness

If a piece will not help you, we do not publish it.

We would rather publish one piece you keep than ten you forget by lunch.
The Threadbare standard

The desk

A small team that actually reads its own inbox.

Marlow Whitfield

Founding editor

Started Threadbare after a decade of explaining complicated things to people who deserved a straighter answer. Writes the self awareness thread.

Priya Sengupta

Research & fact-check

Reads every draft against its sources before it goes live. If a claim cannot be supported, it does not survive the desk.

Devon Achebe
